life...

Life is too short to live life __________
Fill in the blank above with a word of your choosing...

Many people fill it with...sad/unhappy/morose
& I guess that means that one of the values we hold dear is...happiness

But...this kind of surprises me...
People look for happiness, but they also acknowledge the fleeting nature of it,
and they wear themselves out in pursuit of the next adrenaline rush,
the next emotional high, the next flush of euphoric experience.

If we know that it is fleeting, and that it ends...
then we also know that this world can only provide a temporary high,
The kind of experience that...if we keep chasing for...
would probably lead us down the road of...sin, and pleasure, guilty pleasures...

We sang it again today..."Hosanna", "break my heart for what breaks yours"
And i remembered the fall from grace, of 2 high officials & 1 MP,
and the common thing that felled them, was their lust for women,
and the overwhelming sensation that power gave them

I think God's heart truly is broken...
and the term, "fall from grace" is truly apt...
We all live under such Grace...God's Grace
yet we frequently misplace and abuse it so...flippantly

My life is given...in service of others
and I wish sometimes that acts of Love would really be seen that way,
but i've learnt, since time immemorial, men have always been sinful,
and men have always been ungrateful...what makes us think people will change?

We have a folly of low expectations,
a kind of love, which allows people to do what they want,
yet in doing so, autonomy without structure is built,
decisions are made in a vacuum, in which self is the center

We say train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is older, he will not depart from it...
Train up a child to know God, to honour Him, and to Love Him,
and when God has a hold of him, then...they will be led by the King.

But i guess...this is not a message well accepted,
neither is it a love that this soft generation recognises
Why am i fighting for a generation that doesn't fight for itself?
Why should i bother, when instead of coming alongside, they fight against friends?

why?
Maybe...cuz...
that's what God did,
And that's what I'm called to do

prepped

want so much for this to end,
yet, seems ppl want to keep feeding it...

knowing the battle ahead,
just makes me hunker down and pray harder and more...

="/
tired...really tired...but...

ok...plod on, day by day, by day...
we know what's to come,
but we can only take it day to day...
and that's the nature of daily bread too

Trust! watch the Lord, not the giant
Ignore the barbs and the wounds,
the tending of them will come each moment,
but while the battle rages,
every person is needed at the frontline

Look! for deliverance will come
In all of this...He is exalted

You are my Hope, You are my Joy
My soul is uplifted, even in the midst of this
and the words i've always known as life,
are, in this season, becoming even more life giving

Thank You for that Lord.

power of words...

everything just illustrates the power of words...and social media

firestorm, with the ferocity of a maelstorm...

that was one whirlwind day right there...

more to come...

Grace...to do Your will...

pray2ng

Prayer has always been the central & most effective weapon,
but the one most challenging and difficult to wield...

We'd rather spend our thoughts and words on other things,
thinking that those are more worthwhile and pay a higher dividend

But somethings are too important not to take a stand...
Today, i take a stand in prayer for the generations to come,
we raise up a battle cry, a Holy standard, a divine call to arms,
May we have a generation given over to Loving & serving God,
not caught up in the sensuality or cheap deceptions of this age
but one which hungers & thirsts for Christ's Living water,
His divine righteousness, and one to whom all compromise seems bitter...

May the beauty that we possess come from a radiance within,
may the passion we have, not be marred by a culture of opportunistic grabbing,
may we have a settledness that comes from knowing Christ,
a patient waiting on the Lord, and moving only when He calls,
not a moment before...
Not like King Saul when he moved before he ought (1 Samuel 13:8-15)
Let us be people who seek You and find You because we seek You
with ALL of our hearts...

I'm thankful for the clarity once again,
and I know that it's not something easy to bear...
Thank you for looking out and for caring for me too,
I appreciate that so much, and I'm glad you see that also
You are a gem...

And now, as i listen and sense your burden also,
I know that it is a god-given, god-sized one,
so...may it be held in His big hands...
May your heart be lifted as you walk this...not alone
with the Holy Spirit as your guide,
and with Him by your side...
May this triumph of generations that we fight for,
may it be a worthy cause, and one in which we will not back down
I'm glad we're fighting alongside, arm in arm...

Simple Faith and Plain Truth

1-3 The first thing I want you to do is pray.
Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.

Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well
so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.
This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

4-7 He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know,
everyone to get to know the truth we've learned:
that there's one God and only one,
and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus,
who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin,
to set them all free.
Eventually the news is going to get out.
This and this only has been my appointed work:
getting this news to those who have never heard of God,
and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.

8-10 Since prayer is at the bottom of all this,
what I want mostly is for men to pray—
not shaking angry fists at enemies but raising holy hands to God.
And I want women to get in there with the men in humility before God,
not primping before a mirror or chasing the latest fashions
but doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it.
1 Timothy 2:1-10 (The Message)

pray1ng

Thank you Jim Elliot...
your words are like the balm of Gilead,
the salve to a wounded soul...

I may no longer depend on pleasant impulses to bring me before the Lord.
I must rather respond to principles I know to be right,
whether I feel them to be enjoyable or not.

Why do you need a voice when you have a verse?

Rest in this - it is His business to lead, command, impel, send, call,
or whatever you want to call it.
It is your business to obey, follow, move, respond, or what have you...
The sound of 'gentle stillness' after all the thunder and wind have passed
will be the ultimate Word from God.

When it comes time to die, make sure that all you have to do is die.

There's no mistaking the passion of a life given to God like this...

Father, make of me a crisis man.
Bring those I contact to decision.
Let me not be a milepost on a single road;
make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.

Do not expect...

Went into the lion's den yesterday...
watching the match on the grounds of the opposition camp
all for a bachelor night...for a brother...
It brought many insights...

"It is at the borders of pain and suffering
that the men are separated from the boys"
Emil Zatopek

1.
It is scary how "religious" the whole thing felt...
From the singing of club songs,
to the chants and cheers of fans,
like they were encouraging a speaker...

Except for the crass jokes and vulgarities...of course,
and the vehemence and insults spewed...
those were things you do not expect grown men to do,
but...there it was...on full display...
passion that is overboard, fully capable of turning into violence
Is this what a pagan place of worship would look like?

I just read Romans 1:18 to the end of the chapter in The Message version,
and in it was one of the grimmest pictures of sin i've ever read...
And the title of the passage was...

Ignoring God Leads to a Downward Spiral
18-23 But God's angry displeasure erupts as acts of human mistrust and wrongdoing
and lying accumulate, as people try to put a shroud over truth.
But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is!
By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created,
people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see:
eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being.
So nobody has a good excuse.

What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well,
but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him,
they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion
so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives.
They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life.
They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands
for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.

24-25 So God said, in effect, "If that's what you want, that's what you get."
It wasn't long before they were living in a pigpen,
smeared with filth, filthy inside and out.
And all this because they traded the true God for a fake god,
and worshiped the god they made instead of the God who made them—
the God we bless, the God who blesses us. Oh, yes!

 26-27 Worse followed.
Refusing to know God, they soon didn't know how to be human either—
women didn't know how to be women, men didn't know how to be men.
Sexually confused, they abused and defiled one another,
women with women, men with men—all lust, no love.

And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—
emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

28-32 Since they didn't bother to acknowledge God,
God quit bothering them and let them run loose.
And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing.
They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating.
Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, fork-tongued God-bashers.
Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags!
They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives.
They ditch their parents when they get in the way.
Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded.
And it's not as if they don't know better.
They know perfectly well they're spitting in God's face.
And they don't care—worse,
they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!
Romans 1:18-32

2.
The amount of beer flowing around us,
and the amount of cash being floated was...stunning
If...for a night of entertainment, people are forking out hundreds,
then why are we complaining so much about little things?

The distinction is clear actually...
When we see it as OUR pleasure, OUR luxury,
we fight feverishly to defend the expenditure,
when we see it as a common fund or other people's money,
the ugly tendency to want to benefit from it or to get it arises

We pay tons for entertainment each year,
failing to see it for the luxury that it is...
We call it a blessing and indulge in it like we own it all,
And that word indulge, suddenly brings terrible connotations.

There were thing called "indulgences" in the early catholic church,
where people could PAY for remission of sins! Such blasphemy!
Imagine that...And yet people did it...because the priests encouraged it!
And in so doing, compounding the error of their ways...
Where were those who were supposed to speak up?
They were asleep, dead, or participating in this fraud...gosh

Lord, Please don't allow us to be asleep, dead or even worse today...

3.
This whole racism thing between Sua*ez & E*ra...it is so out of hand.
I'm not going to talk about who was right or wrong...
Or the legality or rights of each individual involved,
but i feel that there are some things to learn in all of these...

Even before these incidences...please look at the character of the individuals

E*ra is no angel, he is part of a whole French team that walked off...
but that was a display of unity against a single manager...
And in it, there was wholesale punishment, but he took it,
accepted the blame and moved on from there...

And for Sua*ez, please stop defending him like he is an angel...
I know you are die hard, fervant fans...yet...just google that name...
Luis Sua*ez, and on his own wiki page you will see his behaviour...

i) Suspended for fighting with a TEAMMATE and amassing 7 yellow cards
ii) Bit an opponent's shoulder, hereby gaining the nickname "Cannibal of A*ax"
and suspended for 7 games...
iii) And then in the World Cup, the world's biggest stage...
He stopped a sure goal with his hands, thereby being sent off,
and then he celebrated wildly when the other team missed the penalty

Please...judge a person on his character, not on the ability of their play
All of those things mentioned above are serious character flaws,
but in sport, we choose to celebrate him because he can score goals?
We choose to defend him because he plays for this particular team?
Winning at any cost, cannot be a high and noble ambition.

"...Competitive drive can drive you over the edge...
the will to win, minus the integrity will take you into danger...
the list of means by which humans cheat never ends.
Where there is ingenuity minus honesty, anything goes"
~Sir Steve Redgrave~
5 time Olympic Gold Medallist

'Pool should understand that it is making the situation worse,
by defending instead of disciplining, & taking a soft line
they are making a situation more volatile instead of helping
...when the manager uses the excuse "I didn't see it..." multiple times
it is blameshifting of the highest and most irresponsible order
you set the tone Sir, and you just gave everyone a lame means of excuse..

Character, values, sin, dignity, sportsmanship, lies, humility, arrogance,
they are all so convoluted and so complicated because we have the wrong role models
When we prize anything, we take on their characteristics...
And in this case, when we take on the wrong role models,
we are building the wrong values...completely, utterly wrong...

I was shocked to see how many times we are called names by God,
and one of the ones that keeps repeating...throughout history is...
we are a crooked, wicked, depraved generation...
And until we see that, we fail to see our need for God.

10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined,
but the wicked will continue to be wicked
None of the wicked will understand,
but those who are wise will understand.
Daniel 12:10

Will the wise men with voices, raise up? ="(

4.
I was pretty stunned to hear it so clearly...
And yes, this was what came through...
"Do not expect any thanks..."

And harsh though it may seem...
I think that this is what will happen...sadly

It has always been the case,
those vilified, have no one to stand for them,
much less speak up for them...
so...they stand alone...with God...
and that...just...has...to be enough...sadly

Do the hard, but the right thing...always

"When Jesus is all you have,
you discover...He's all you need"
Paraphase of Joni Eareckson Tada

you (us, sinful people) no sooner killed the Author of Life
than God raised him from the dead
—and we're the witnesses.
Acts 3:15 (The Message)

Can you imagine how He Loves?

Speechless...
And maybe that's why I'm to say nothing too

This has been the hardest, really...
But God...you allow it,
and you give grace for it
Your Love will prevail...
I pray and ask for the price...
not to be that...please

='(

It's not even my price to pay
but i feel it...
Yet, it is also not my journey,
and therefore I have nothing in this...
Except maybe that bit of Love that You gift,
the heart of a shepherd, or the widow who lost her coin,
I suddenly feel it's weight now...
It's natural to give up everything to chase down that lost sheep,
Is this the heart you give to parents too?
I understand...I don't like it, but i understand...

="/

You are the way,
the Truth everlasting,
You are the Hope of Glory inside us
Jesus, You are all that we need

This was Paul to the Corinthian church...

8-9I know I distressed you greatly with my letter.
Although I felt awful at the time, I don't feel at all bad now that I see how it turned out.
The letter upset you, but only for a while.
Now I'm glad—not that you were upset, but that you were jarred into turning things around.
You let the distress bring you to God, not drive you from him.
The result was all gain, no loss.

10Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around.
It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain.
But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets,
end up on a deathbed of regrets.

11-13And now, isn't it wonderful all the ways in which this distress has goaded you closer to God?
You're more alive, more concerned, more sensitive, more reverent,
more human, more passionate, more responsible.
Looked at from any angle, you've come out of this with purity of heart.
And that is what I was hoping for in the first place when I wrote the letter.
My primary concern was not for the one who did the wrong or even the one wronged,
but for you—that you would realize and act upon the deep, deep ties between us before God.
That's what happened—and we felt just great.

2 Cor 7:8-13 (The Message)

Godly sorrow brings us to repentence,
And brings us back, just like the prodigal...
Thank You for Loving all your wayward people, God
Thank You for never giving up...

May those who run...never run far from You,
in their hurt and shame...may your Love prevail
and set them free...forever changed...standing in Your Grace

May they find that they run...
only to run into your everlasting arms of Love
May they never be able to escape your firm embrace...=")

Live the game of life

1 & 5, I know you do not know about this blog,
and I will never interest you enough that you will look for this,
so...though you'll never see this, both of you brought this thought to mind...

I've always wondered, we all love games don't we?
However, most of the time we have never stopped to consider...
what makes a game, a game...one that we will love and play.

Among many things that make a game possible are...rules
Be it in a game like soccer, basketball, tchoukball, hockey, netball,
or even in boardgames, word games, etc...
every game i know has a set of rules, one that everyone follows,
And if not, the rules usually help to clarify the ambiguity,
or it helps to punish the offences committed in violation of the rules.

Of course there are people who are unsportsmanlike and flout the rules,
and there are those who study the rules, in order to know their rights best.
Can you imagine a game with no rules? No boundary lines of play?
How about one where NOTHING is an offence? I think it will degrade the play...
in the end...most will not want to play, because chaos ensues and it's no fun then.

As i mention this, I remember instances like Eric Cantona,
a wizard on the pitch, but when he left the field of play and attacked a fan...
he definitely deserved his punishment...

Turn it around, recently, in Egypt, when "fans" mobbed the pitch and left dozens dead,
resulting in the immediate retirements of several players (because it's not worth it)
and the total cessation of on any league play,
and the disbandment of the Egyptian Football association.
Such tragedies are obvious, huge and have ramifications all around.

But...how about the "game" of life?
The one where each of us plays...daily
Why do we complain when we foul others and then are punished for it?

What are the "fouls" that we constantly commit?  Why do we do them?
Do we understand where the boundary lines are? and why they're there?
Do we understand when we reap what we sow?
Are we just having fun without an aim or goal in mind?

1 & 5, you both have been really interesting...
Not only knowingly breaking and testing each and every rule,
but you are like the fans who rioted and created chaos...
now...there are reprecussions that others have to clean up for you...

Yes, i know you have decided to live with the consequences,
however, without learning from these mis-steps...
the tendency to repeat them is astonishingly high...
Once again, you know...we've constantly extended that hand of help,
it is still there should you want it...and i hope you will take it

9 & I are still here, and we will be here, waiting at our weekly meeting spot
I hope that your "sorry, busy" will not last more than these 2 weeks,
And you recognise that grace and Love has never left you...
It has been hard to Love you with God's Love,
mainly because you keep slapping it away from our human hands...
but we have tried, and will continue trying...

I just read this today...and felt really teary eyed...
"They don't notice what they're missing,
because they are not missing it."

I hope that you will not be like that...
in fact, i hope that you will miss God,
miss His unconditional Love...His immeasurable Grace,
I hope you will miss Him so much that you'll run back to Him,
just like the youngest son in the story of the prodigal son.

We've loved in action, in word, in deed,
I have no idea what you need...but we are giving what we have,
May the Lord give you everything else that you need.
And may we still be His hands and feet, ones that you will tangibly know.

I was asked today...how long will we continue to wait on you,
And i could not give a time frame...
Instead...what came out was...

"How long did God wait for each of us?"

Answer: He's still waiting...

I'm getting a glimpse into why it's called..."longsuffering"
But if you were to ask me,
I choose the long, slow grind of patient love,
because real love doesn't put a price on its actions.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
 as some understand slowness.
Instead he is patient with you,
 not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance.
~2 Peter 3:9~

These lessons on Love just keep coming...
Thank You Lord

problem statement

today has been an interesting one...

The way people see problems are the way they will address it
that's normal and natural...

However, why is it that there is a failure to see that...
observing the letter of the law yet ignoring the spirit of it,
is even worse and more deceptive?
When we are finding ways to circumvent or to go around...
doesn't that ring it's own alarm bells?
Where is the moral compass? What has happened? ="/

Is it because the definition of the problem statement is wrong?
That people see the wrong actions and try to change it...
but deep within their hearts, they still hold on to the very same nature...
the actions adjust, but within, the heart motivations stay the same...
Is this cosmetic surgery hiding a deficiency of character?

Was wrecked by that sermon by Edmund Chan yesterday...
how we have been lulled into a spiritual complacency,
a deadness of soul and spirit,
because we lack the wartime mentality of confronting sin,
we are not militant about eradicating the root of the problem,
there is a predisposition to comfort, entertainment, fun...
we want the authority, status and power...
but at the end of the day, we do not wield it for the glory of God.
Not in our personal lives, and certainly not to the betterment of others.

We've been hearing that this next generation is the Joshua Generation,
the one that will enter and take the promised land,
that is a stirring cry, and a wonderful promise to apprehend...
I fully support and believe in that...

But there is also a reality to it, one that i'm aware of...
Edmund was right when he said, culture is slipping, morals are declining,
we are in a fight for the hearts and minds of this generation,
and it is a battle we are not winning...not yet...
not while they are shaped by youtube, facebook and temporary distractions,
we are in decline, in standards, morality, purity and biblical knowledge,
It is a fact, Christians know more about what is happening in movies and music,
then they do about the facts of the bible, and Jesus.

This generation will stand on the shoulders of the past generation,
but i hope that the Joshua generation that arises, isn't one that falls easily...
Joshua and his people were a wartime people...
they had to fight battles in their land,
some of these were against more numerous armies,
some were with cunning enemies who acted like friends,
and some were against giants...
They could rise up and fight because they were taught well,
and they knew how to wield the truth, and the weapons of war...
even after 40 years in the desert...

I think our youth have endured their own 40 years...
from independence to now...and it is worrying to see some things...
when the young of the nation are speaking ill and attacking their political leaders,
they exhibit a gross neglect of the battles the older ones have fought...
they fail to see that the prosperity of today was fought tooth and nail,
by a generation that was given nothing, and fought for everything...

A new generation that rises will need to fight their own battles too,
but if fighting those battles means they are fighting those before them...
it is simply the wrong battle.
The battlefront is for THIS own generation, it is a battle of their own hearts and minds,
defining this problem statement wrongly, and fighting on other fronts,
simply means that we have gotten it wrong.

Lord, please raise up a generation that is fighting for your name & your glory...
not one that entertains itself into meaningless oblivion...
but one that lives with a sense of divine calling and destiny in You.
I pray that you'll expel the lies in their lives...
that they may live and love you with all that they have.

May they have a nature that is shaped & moulded by love for You,
and may any sliver of compromise be radically dealt with,
There is such a divorce of thought and action sometimes,
but Lord, you've never given up so teach us to persevere...

When I watched movies, I've always wondered how those parents could...
spoil their kids, love them so much that they did everything for them,
and in the whole process, also live with so much neglect & disappointment.
Didn't their patience ever run thin or wear out?

Then i remember Christ...known also as the suffering servant...
He came to serve, he endured ridicule, people wanted to crown Him king,
He knew better and grew...no, not a kingdom, but a motley group of disciples...

Was He good-looking? suave? a polished orator?
No...the biblical description was none of that...
He grew up in a humble carpenter's shop, His appearance didn't make people swoon,
He did the funniest things...like spit and make mud to heal blind eyes...
Along with those who followed, i wonder how many laughed at this man...

We fight the wrong battles, and follow the wrong people...
May the pride and ego of this generation be sacrificed at your cross Lord,
May the posturing, the reliance on image & strength be released to you,
May we find our only security in You, the Rock of our salvation and our firm foundation...

Thankful

Lord, thank You for the Campus Day of Prayer today,
that eventhough it was a really rushed message preparation,
and such a big topic, i thank You that Your Word came alive.

Was glad to receive that sms after...
that You gave those words life and that it spoke...
to lift up someone, and to give closure...

I'm always amazed when You work like that,
and Lord, keep me this amazed always please,
I wanna be child-like and in awe of you constantly...

Tired, spent, but feeling satisfied
Good & fruitful day of work
Kept calm and carried on...=)

glad for my bed now,
no vomitting, no queasy stomach please,
And Lord, give me strength & wisdom enough for each day please

And this is something we really don't say often enough...
and when we do, we say it in passing...
but i'm saying this intentionally, and meaning it totally...

Thank You Jesus!

God of Justice

Life on the other side of the fence,
of a nearly man, a has-been, an also-ran,
the homeless, emotionally destitute, physically run-down,
thoughts that flit through..."filth, worthless, incompetent, scum..."

Looking on with an easy laughter, contempt veiled by wit...
Blinded not by ignorance, but by a hardened heart...
Thoughts pass by...not of compassion, love or giving
but ones of judgement, condemnation, and selfishness.

We thank God that we are not in that situation,
but in that backhanded way of pride,
it turns out that where we think we're worth something,
We're actually bankrupt, if in it, we miss the real worth of a person

Why is the quality of your secret life vital?
Because it's your inner life.
And brother, the inner life is where life's battles are fought
...and won.

It encompasses your mind...
what you think and think on.

It includes your will...
what you decide you will and won't do.

And it centers on your heart.

~Jim George~

"Break my heart for what breaks yours..."
A song, a cry, a plea...
But when it happens, it REALLY happens...
how would you react? What would you do?

"When Jesus saw her weeping,
and the Jews who had come with her also weeping,
he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled.
John 11:33

Jesus wept
John 11:35

Jesus wept,
and then He raised Lazarus
setting him free from his linen strips (John 11:44)
but also setting him free from the grip of death itself.

When you enter into the depths of where God wants you to,
you'll feel the gravity of all that He felt, that almost crushing weight,
but if all you feel is that heaviness, then you miss the weight of His Glory,
if we only smell the scent of death, we miss His sweet fragrance,
there is Joy amidst sadness, a Hope amidst despair,
just as there is a Love amongst the greatest of sinners...
There is Jesus

He is our Light, the Living Water, the Bread of Life.

They must know also...

Divine discontent

Three Dollars Worth of God

I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please.
Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep,
but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine.

I don’t want enough of God to make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant.

I want ecstasy, not transformation.
I want warmth of the womb, not a new birth.
I want a pound of the Eternal in a paper sack.

I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please.

~Wilbur Rees~

The above is so true, and speaks so much of the human condition,
where we would so much rather have a God we can contain,
one we can easily control and understand, one that we can fathom.

When we try to do things apart from God,
or when we try to just have that little bit of Him,
not any more or any less...
We live a life of lukewarmness, one that stagnates and festers

Experience: that most brutal of teachers.
But you learn, my God do you learn.
~C. S. Lewis~

God is God precisely because He IS to more than just a passing thought,
He is God because He is the only One who can demand NOTHING & EVERYTHING of us,
because He gave us EVERYTHING, for our nothingness.
He is Good, even if we refuse to acknowledge it, He IS Good!

"God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself,
because it is not there. There is no such thing."
~C. S. Lewis
